Dogs have the craziest habits.
Eating grass. Rolling around on the grass. Digging and snuffling in the grass.
They really love grass.
So what happens when your lawn care service stops by to treat your lawn?
Is it safe for Champ?
Let’s take a look at pet safe lawn care in Idaho Falls.
Lawn fertilizers come in granule or liquid products. Granules are sprinkled on top, while liquid fertilizer is sprayed directly on the lawn.
When our crews apply fertilizer, we post signs warning that children and pets should be kept off the grass for at least 24 hours.
The signs can seem kind of scary, but these warnings look more serious than they really are. Actually, lawn fertilizers are pretty safe.
How long after lawn treatment is it safe for pets? You may still smell the residual fertilizer, but as long as you wait until the spray fertilizer has dried — about four hours — or until the granules have been watered in, your pets are safe to go outside.
A good watering from either your irrigation system or rain forces the fertilizer down into the soil.
If you’re still concerned, we can do spot treatments in your yard, only targeting areas that really need it or avoiding areas where Lola spends the most time.
When we spray liquid herbicides and insecticides, we also recommend pets stay off the lawn or treatment area until it’s dry. Once it’s dry, it’s safe.
If there are special instructions beyond that, we let you know.
Another way Lawn Buddies provides pet-friendly lawn care in Idaho Falls is after each visit to your yard, we send out an instructional video that provides you with all of the information you need to know after a lawn care treatment.
It lets you know how long to avoid the area, when you can water, and what to expect from the lawn treatment.
We try to answer your questions before you ask them, but if you need more answers, give us a shout!
